Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Weather Station uses, why it uses it, and how privacy is handled throughout the app experience.

Weather Station — Privacy Policy

We aim to keep Weather Station focused, transparent, and respectful of user privacy. This page explains what information may be used and how users remain in control.

Clear, formal & review-ready

1. Information we use

Weather Station may use location information to provide accurate local weather forecasts, weather-based features, and commute-related information for saved places such as Home and Work.

The app may also use optional permissions, such as notifications, when enabled by the user.

Weather Station does not request health-related permissions and does not use health data.

2. How information is used

Information is used only to provide the requested app functionality and improve the user experience within the features enabled by the user.

  • Providing local weather forecasts and related weather information
  • Supporting travel-time or commute-related features for saved places
  • Sending optional alerts or notifications when enabled
  • Saving user preferences locally on the device

3. Storage and retention

Weather Station does not store personal data on external servers.

Location information is used only as needed to provide app functionality and is not permanently stored by us on external servers.

Preferences such as selected locations, units, app settings, and similar configuration data may be stored locally on the user's device so the app can remember the chosen setup.

Locally stored app data remains on the device until the user clears app data, changes the relevant settings, or removes the app.

4. Permissions

Users control which permissions they grant. Permissions can be allowed, denied, or revoked at any time through the device settings.

If certain permissions are denied, some features may be limited or unavailable, while core app functionality may remain available where possible.

5. Third-party services

Weather Station may rely on third-party services to provide necessary functionality such as weather data, geolocation-related services, mapping, or travel-time information.

These services may process technical information required to operate correctly, such as approximate location, network requests, or IP-based information.

Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies and terms. We recommend reviewing those policies where relevant.

6. Data deletion and user control

Users remain in control of how much of the app experience they enable.

  • Permissions can be disabled or revoked through device settings
  • App settings can be changed inside the app
  • Locally stored data can be removed by clearing app data on the device
  • The app can be removed from the device at any time

Weather Station does not store personal data on external servers. All user-related data, such as app preferences and selected locations, is stored locally on the user's device.

Users can delete their data in the following ways:

  • By uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored app data from the device
  • By clearing app storage through Android device settings, for example: Settings → Apps → Weather Station → Storage → Clear data
  • By changing or resetting settings inside the app where applicable

Once local app data is cleared or the app is removed, locally stored preferences and related app data are deleted from the device.

Since Weather Station does not store personal data on external servers, no separate server-side deletion request is required.

If users have questions regarding data handling or deletion, they may contact us using the email address below.
